TRR#59 - Chevrons and Flowers

Welcome to another beautiful challenge from The Ribbon Reel.

Sweet Michelle Bala has chosen such an inspiring photo for our current challenge - isn't this cushion amazing? Such beautiful contrasting colours and design. Michelle is challenging us to use the COLOURS that you can see in the photo and create a project using CHEVRONS and FLOWERS!

I couldn't resist the lovely fabulous chevron paper I have had in my stash for some time. It's from the DCWV 'La Creme' Stack I added an MFT die cut leafy flourish, a cute little chipboard birdcage and added tons of beautiful Ribbon Reel goodies!! For the sentiment, I simply stamped the 'Sweet Birthday Wishes' phrase from Waltzingmouse's 'Compact Sentiments' straight over the patterned paper! I just love the contrast of the cerise pink, black, orange against the wonderful chevrons in Michelle's photo and that is where I found my inspiration.

I used the following products available right now in the Ribbon Reel Store.
A beautiful cerise hybrid tea-rose; cream/orange cherry blossoms; pink hybrid tea rose; the sweetest little 'Made with Love' Nickel charm. And not forgetting the absolutely stunning ribbons I was lucky enough to play with !  16mm Fuschia Pink Two Tone Mesh Ribbon; 15mm Ruffle Edge Black Sheer Ribbon; 9mm Orange Grosgrain Ribbon.

Click HERE to go to The Ribbon Reel Challenge blog and take part. You never know, you could be in with a chance of winning some AMAZING goodies from The Ribbon Reel store!!

Til next time!

TRR#58 - Rose Cottage

Hi Everyone,
Hope you had a wonderful weekend. It's been super hot here and I'm absolutely loving it! Super fun 3D project for you today for our latest
I've been having a great time playing around with my stash and of course lots of wonderful goodies from The Ribbon Reel store.

Here is the GORGEOUS inspiration photo from the equally gorgeous Debbie Marcinkiewicz! Debbie asks that you create a card/project using White and pink flowers with Ribbon and Lace.

I cut the little house out by hand  using some patterned papers and then added some white lace and pearls May Arts trim, a tea rose and a cute little pearl.  I wanted it to resemble an ornament suspended in the middle of the frame so I used some gorgeous 3mm pink May Arts velvet trim backed with some 1/2" white seam binding to create the effect.  I used sheer paper and stamped the sentiment "home is where You are" from Waltzingmouse Stamps'  Roses in Bloom stamp set in pink and adhered to the center of the house.

We would love to see your creations, so simply link up your card/project over at The Ribbon Reel Challenge Blog. My TRR teamies have also created some absolutely stunning projects so please do stop by and leave them some love! Their blogs are listed below, simply click on their names to be taken to their blogs:)

Have a great week.

Love it !!

TRR#54 - Flower Cart

Hello and welcome to a whole new fun challenge from The Ribbon Reel. It's a beautiful Bank Holiday weekend here in the UK. Happy Memorial Day to all those of you in the USA too!

Jeanne has chosen the most beautiful photo inspiration for us to play with over the next two weeks and asks that we be inspired by the colours of the photo, use VIOLETS and GREEN and add RIBBON and a FLOWER.

I had a special 40th Birthday card to make for my lovely friend who will be turning 40 on Tuesday.  I used some Bridal White Satin Ribbon to make a wide ruffled piece and then added some Purple Saddle Stitch Grosgrain along the bottom edge. I added some beautiful two-tone dark lilac Cherry Blossom flowers and a sweet white Gardenia flower. The green olive faux silk ribbon gives the impression of leaves and I couldn't resist some loopy purple button twine and beautiful white leaf stick pins.

The gorgeous 'My Heart' stamp set is one of my favourites and is by Waltzingmouse and is stamped in shades of violet and green and I added some sweet lilac gems which I had shaped into the number 40.

You can find full details of the challenge over at The Ribbon Reel Challenge blog as well as links to all the beautiful creations from the rest of the Ribbon Reel Design Team -  well worth a look!!

Li'l dolly tags & request :)

Hey everyone & Happy Bank Holiday to all those in the UK! I hope you are all enjoying the beautiful weather :)

I'm just popping in with some little dolly tags that I have made to co-ordinate with the sweet dollies I have been making recently.

I used my dies and leftover felt to cut different hairstyles and the faces are hand drawn. I also added some sweet ribbon and matching bows using left over pieces of material from making the dolls clothing. I used some gorgeous seam binding, mini ric rac, satin ribbon and natural button twine from The Ribbon Reel :)

I wondered if you would be kind enough to head over to my Facebook page and say 'Hi' - I would really like your feedback on these:) Here's a link to the Dolly Tag photo on Litte Ida Crafts page: Little Ida Dolly Tags Photo. Alternatively you can leave me a little comment right here on my blog :)

Have a great week! Big Hugs,

TRR#52 - Love Letters

We have a fresh challenge over at The Ribbon Reel Challenge Blog and the lovely 'Keilly' has chosen this beautiful inspiration board photo for you to work with this time.

Here is my take. A sweet rustic little birthday card. I used some pretty papers and stitched along the edge using my trusty sewing machine. I added some 'May Arts Faux Canvas Ribbon' and zig zag stitched along the middle.

I then used Serendipitys Heart Die to cut some white felt and then added a selection of gorgeous Ribbon Reel Ribbons (the beautiful May Arts 16mm 'faux canvas' Ribbon in champagne, 4mm diagonal stripe ribbon, 16mm Two Tone Aqua Blue Mesh Ribbon23mm Red Polka Dot Button and aqua blue leaf pin

The button has a small flower shape just behind it, cut using a Spellbinders Floral Die. The gorgeous sentiment is from Waltzingmouse Stamps 'Compact Sentiments' set and stamped in PTI's Hawaiian Shores Ink.

I added a cute 15mm red heart button and bluebell/white gingham button also from
The Ribbon Reel shop to finish :)

April Waltzingmouse Stamps Flower Show

Hello and welcome to the Waltzingmouse Stamps Flower Show!
You should have arrived here from JJ Bolton's blog. If you would like to follow the blog waltz from the beginning, you can find all the details on Claire's Blog. All the participants are listed for you below:

I was so delighted when Claire and Lynn asked me to take part in this event as part of this months new stamp releases over at Waltzingmouse Stamps! As you can see from the list above I am in extremely good company and still cannot really believe that I can see my name included there :)

I know you already seen lots of wonderful creations, so I will get straight onto my card - I hope that you will not be disappointed.

I used the three little flower images from the 'A Good Egg' set and an all time favourite of mine - 'Pic Nic Patterns' to create a bespoke background. I stamped the leaves in celery green and then stamped the flowers in Primary colours - red, yellow and blue.
Here's a little shot of the three flowers I used together on an acrylic block when I was playing around with the patterns deciding which order to stamp them in.

I used 'Very Vintage Labels 18' to stamp a lovely frame for the sentiment from 'Compact Sentiments' which seemed to fit with flowers ;)

I am the last person on the Flower Show tour today, so I hope that you have enjoyed what you have seen!  Waltzingmouse are offering an AMAZING prize -  all you have to do is CASE one of your favourite cards from the Flower Show and then post a link to your creation on Claire's blog from 23rd April. One random lucky winner will win a total of 5 stamp sets of their choice!! Fantastic- that's definitely worth an entry!!

Don't forget that all of the wonderful new releases are available in here in the Waltzingmouse Stamps Store.

TRR#51 - Feeling Blue

Hello and welcome to my blog!

I'm back with another fun challenge from The Ribbon Reel.  It's Sarah's turn to set the challenge this time and she has chosen THE most BEAUTIFUL photo for us all and asks us to use Shades of Blue with a hint of green and to include ribbon and flowers.

I used my much beloved Waltzingmouse 'Teeny Trees' stamp set to create a 'New Home' Card. We are unfortunately losing one of my eldest son's best friends to the United States this year as they are moving back to their family, making a new start in Boston where all their family are living.

I used some beautiful 'sky blue satin ribbon', a 'resin dahlia flower', some 'cream floral cotton lace trim' and some 'May Arts Pale Green velvet ric rac'. I stamped the little tree trunk and branches and then used two tones on the leaves -  a pale sky blue with a celery green on the inside.  I thought those sweet birdies looked as though they could do with a little birdhouse, so I stamped them a new home using the birdhouse image from the "A Good Egg" set by Waltzingmouse in 'faded jeans' distress ink (stamped off, then stamped again).  The scene is all framed by a lacey circle from 'Vintage Circles Small' by Waltzingmouse.

If you get the chance, we would love to see what you come up with for this challenge. You can find all the details here on the Ribbon Reel Challenge Blog as well as some AMAZING cards from the rest of the Ribbon Reel Design Team :)

Have a wonderfully creative week!

TRR#49 - Spring Cottage

Hello everybody,

Apologies for my absence from Blog Land -  I hope that today's creation will go some way to making up for lost time :) And what better way to start the week than with some yummy Ribbon Reel goodness!! Yes my friends, its time for another fun challenge over at The Ribbon Reel Challenge Blog.

I do hope that you will enjoy looking at my card as much as I enjoyed making it. I am very much a country girl at heart and I love, love, love the inspiration photo Tammy chose for us to work with so much! We are asking you to create a little something inspired by the Photo using the colours PINK, YELLOW and AQUA and use RIBBON and a FLOWER! Sounds good doesn't it?

As soon as I saw those pretty dresses on the line I immediately thought of the beautiful Serendipity Stamps Three Dresses Cling Set and set to work creating my own simple scene!  I picked out lots of pretty papers from the MME 'The Sweetest Thing - Lavender' 6x6 DPs which were a perfect colour match with their pink, yellow and aqua flower prints.  I stamped the beautiful sentiment from the same Serendipity set directly onto the patterned paper using soft cocoa ink.

I fussy cut the dresses and suspended them from a yellow and white Bakers Twine Washing Line, held up by pretty pink Cherry Blossom flowers. I trimmed along the edge using some 'Organza Sheer Yellow Ribbon, Light Blue Mini Ric Rac, more lovely Divine Yellow and White Bakers Twine and some beautiful Baby Pink Seam Binding, finished with an aqua blue adhesive pearl - all available from The Ribbon Reel Store :)

I really hope you get the chance to play along - the challenge runs for a fortnight so there is plenty of time.  All the details of this challenge as well as some absolutely stunning samples can be found on "The Ribbon Reel Challenge Blog"

TRR#48 - You Mean Everything

Hello friends!

I hope you all had a great weekend :) I had a fun filled weekend - time with the family, bit of crafty time too!

It's time for another Ribbon Reel Challenge and I chose the following photo for you to work with over the next two weeks.  I would love to see what you create with this - all you need to do is be inspired by the COLOURS in the photo and use FLOWERS and RIBBON. Most of all - have FUN!

and here's my take...

I used a sweet birdcage chipboard piece by Tando Creative painted with cream acrylic paint as the centrepiece on this card, trimming with a beautiful off white tea rose and some white cherry blossom flowers, white daisy lace and Purple Plum Bakers twine from The Ribbon Reel store. I took my cue from my photo and added a few little aqua blue and kraft butterflies onto the cage. The cute blue dotty paper is by MME and is from The Sweetest Thing Lavender paper pad which Keilly also stocks in The Ribbon Reel store :)
I stamped the 'you mean Everything to me' sentiment from Waltzingmouse's Roses in Bloom stamp set directly onto the pretty Glitz design patterned paper.
I used some Lavender seam binding and some Lilac centre stitch grosgrain to trim along the bottom of the card. I also added a little banner at the top right hand corner using some Champagne Twill Stripe Ribbon - all available in the Ribbon Reel store.

If you would like to know more about this challenge and see what the other members of the DT created, then  you can find all the details by visiting The Ribbon Reel Challenge Blog :)

I'm also linking up to Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #75 with the following sketch (hope you don't mind ladies, I turned it on it's side :)

Have a great week everyone!
