Good Morning,

The Challenge this week at 'Tuesday Throwdown' is to 'Use Gingham' on your project. Our fabulous sponsor this week is 'Sweet n Sassy Stamps'

I really enjoyed using their cute little 'Rhubarbs Ice Cream Cone' Digital stamp for my card today.  I coloured him using copics and added some sparkly stickles to his mint icecream!

TRR#31 "Lets Have Tea"

Happy Monday Crafters!

Are you ready for another Ribbon Reel Challenge? Yay! Here we go....this week we have a beautiful tea themed inspiration picture to really get your creativity going. 'LET'S HAVE TEA' - create a card/project inspired by the COLORS in the photo USING a 'TEA ELEMENT', FLOWERS plus LACE or RIBBON.  You can find FULL details of this fortnights challenge by visiting The Ribbon Reel Challenge Blog where you will also be able to see all the wonderful projects by the rest of DT!

I wanted to make something 'just for me' this time as its my birthday today and to celebrate my love of TEA!!

I cut some chipboard using my cuttlebug and the largest rectangular shape from the Spellbinders Labels Eight nesties. I took some aqua tissue paper and stamped lots of random words from Waltzingmouse Stamps "Afternoon Tea Sentiments" stamp set and a couple of labels from PTI's "Tea for Two" set using Stazon ink to create a custom background paper.

I brushed on some Mod Podge glue to cover the chipboard with my custom tissue paper. Love the texture this gives. When dry, I used a brayer to go in and randomly add some lilac coloured acrylic paint.

I put my wallhanging base to one side and I stamped my little heart out! I created the tea-cup and the banners with the words by stamping onto patterned papers.  I added some extra shading to the tea-cup and the all important tea inside using my Copic markers. Then I really went to town using all the gorgeous ribbons and trims from The Ribbon Reel.

I used some pink grosgrain, turquoise sheer ruffle edge ribbon, white paper raffia, twine and a cute polka dot button behind the tea-cup and doily.

I used ivory and rosy baby pink tea roses and a sweet light lilac cherry blossom with some blue and purple polka dot buttons to highlight the banners and words. I finished the bottom of the wall-hanging with some beautiful guipure lace and lastly threaded some more gorgeous turquoise ruffled ribbon through the top.

I always find sketches a fab way to get me thinking about where I'm going to place certain elements and this week I've used the great sketch over on the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge Blog (WMSC103). It's certainly a long time since I've played along and I'm really delighted to do so!! ;)

Here's the sketch:

Well, enjoy your week whatever you are up to.  I hope you like what you have seen and thanks very much for looking!

TT103 MyGrafico Tri-fold Window Card

TT103 Window Card

Hello, Good Morning!

Today I'm sharing a Window Card I have made for this week's Tuesday Throwdown Challenge.
As one of the DT I was lucky enough to be able to use this sweet bee image from the 'Woodland Animal Digital Stamp Set' available from our sponsor 'MyGrafico' to make a tri-fold window card.  I started by copying the image and flipping it so that I have two little bees who are almost kissing!! This is really a little love note, but could just as easily work for an Anniversary or Engagement card. The image is coloured using my copics and I have added some shine to the wings by applying some Glossy Accents by Ranger.

TT103 view 2

For the cardbase, I cut a piece of cardstock to 4"x12" and scored at 4inches and 8 inches on my Scor Pal.  I then used my Spellbinders Labels One to cut windows into the two outer flaps.  I dry embossed a plaid pattern onto the front side of the card and covered the next window layer in patterned paper.

TT103 Inside view

The coloured image was cut using Labels One die and then mounted onto the very inside of the card (which also happens to be the middle section of the scored cardstock). I had already covered the middle section with more patterned paper.  I also made a little flower for the front using Spellbinders Bitty Blossoms die.

I do hope you find the time to play along with us this week at Tuesday Throwdown. There are so many  ways to get creative with Window Cards, so come and join in the fun and upload your card on the TT blog or online gallery using the TT103 reference.  Don't forget to pay the other DT ladies a visit to see the wonderful window cards they have made to inspire you!!!

Have a great week.

Guest Designing for DYSU#76 - 'For a Man or Boy'

Hello and Good Morning!

I was delighted when Ren-Yi and the team asked me to be a Guest Designer over at the 'Do You Stack Up?! Challenge Blog. Each Thursday brings a new fabulous Challenge and sponsor and this week it's to create a card or project 'FOR A MAN OR BOY' - perfect for Fathers Day on Sunday!

I was privileged to be able to use some wonderful images on my card today courtesy of 'MelonHeadz Illustrating'.

I used the 'Daddy's Girl' sentiment to create my own custom background paper - so easy to do and looks really effective. Some red and white twill cut into a banner shape at the bottom completes my background. I decided to use the adorable 'Father and Daughter' image as my focal point, printing onto cream cardstock, paper piecing their sweet clothes and colouring them using my Copic markers. I used my oval nesties to create the oval shape for the main image and for the Kraft mat, which I embossed with a Sizzix plaid embossing folder.

I simply printed the 'Dad Heart' image to the size of my liking, cut out and sponged with Distress Ink. I also added some red gems and a red button and twine as a finishing touch.

I hope you like my creation today and that you will have the opportunity to make something and come join us!! You can find FULL details for this challenge AND all the inspiring creations by the DYSU DT ladies over on the 'DYSU blog'.

Have a great Tuesday everyone!!

TT102 'Critter Crazy' with Heart Song Designs

Good morning dear crafty people!

It's Tuesday and that means it's time for a brand new 'Tuesday Throwdown Challenge'. This week the team are being sponsored by 'Heart Song Designs' who are supporting us in our 'CRITTER CRAZY' theme!!

I have used the sweet little 'Owl on Branch' image on my card today.  I simply printed him twice onto cream cardstock, coloured and then cut out Mr Owl and popped him up using foam adhesive to give him a little dimension.

TT102 Crazy Critters

I used oval nestabilities to create a frame for him using some woodgrain effect patterned paper.  The background is created from panels of co-ordinating MME patterned paper and green cardstock and finished with some lovely dark brown twine and prima pearls.

I used a fabulous sketch for the layout of this card - it's SSS162 from the Sweet Stop Sketch Challenge Blog. I simply flipped the sketch on it's side. I love this sketch and can see myself using it over and over!

Click here to visit the Tuesday Throwdown blog and take a peek at what the other DT ladies have created for your inspiration - you won't be disappointed!  Hope you can join us - look forward to seeing you there!

Big Hugs,

TRR30 - 'Strawberries and Cream'

Hello and a very warm welcome to you this Monday morning!

It's time for another fabulous Ribbon Reel Challenge and we have another inspirational (yummy looking) picture to kickstart your creativity this fortnight.  The lovely Keilly, owner of The Ribbon Reel (and all round super-crafty lady) is asking us to create a card/project inspired by the COLOURS in the photo plus LACE or RIBBON.

I used Cosmo Crickets Tea for Two papers and Chipboard pieces on my card - both of which Keilly now has available in The Ribbon Reel store.
I was inspired by the panel pieces of the Freshly Made Sketches card layout this week, so I took three different patterned papers from the 6x6 mini pad, cut them to size, zig-zag stitched around them and then added some Pink Faux Silk Ribbon and Prima Alencon lace - both from the Ribbon Reel.  I absolutely ADORE that lace - it looks just like a little lace doily tablecloth underneath the tea set.

I had so much fun with these sweet chipboard elements - I don't think I use them nearly enough on cards.  The little cup and saucer and cream jug are just adorable and the perfect size for cards - but having said that they would make a beautiful little cluster on any scrapbook page or album too!!

I created a little banner from cream cardstock, sponged the edges with a little Antique Linen Distress ink and then stamped the sentiment from Papertrey Ink's 'Tea for Two' set in rose red ink.

Find all the information you need about The Ribbon Reel Challenge and all the gorgeous creations by the TRR DT by visiting The Ribbon Reel Blog. Hope you'll come and play!

As I mentioned earlier, I used the layout from the
so here is that sketch (FMS38)...

Have a great Monday!
