CR84FN#69 - Love Grows Where You Plant It

Hello and welcome friends to CR84FN#69!  I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and are looking forward to a brand new year! We have Lisa Snowdy joining us as our Guest Designer at CR84FN for the month of January. You can see her first card with us on the CR84FN blog and also on Lisa's very own blog:- 'Adventures in Paperland'. Do drop by and leave her a lovely comment if you have the time :)

We have a really beautiful colour combo to play with for the next two weeks. Isn't it gorgeous?

Here's my take...

I used some gorgeous Glitz Design floral patterned paper for the background and lots of beautiful Waltzingmouse Stamps. I die cut a label using Spellbinders Labels 2 and used a co-ordinating 'Very Vintage Labels No.2 stamp set' designed by Waltzingmouse to created a border. I then stamped the beautiful heart wreath image from the 'My Heart'  in Lavender ink by SU! and fussy cut around the detail of those leaves. You can just see the sweet woodgrain heart image that I used to stamp inside the heart shape using Antique Linen ink - just for a little added interest. The 'Love' sentiment is from the 'My Heart' set and stamped in Raspberry ink. The 'Grows Where You Plant It' part of the sentiment is from the 'Vintage Garden Seed Packet' stamp set. I used some sweet Bazill dotty cardstock to created the centre panel. The shaped bottom edge I created using a die from the spellbinders Labels 8 nestabilities set.

I tied some pretty cream lace in a bow and added some Hydrangea Daisy flowers from The Ribbon Reel. I used some little pink gems to finish and there you have it!

Come play along if you have the chance - the colours are beautiful and so fun to create with!!

You can find all the details on the CR84FN blog. We always love to see you there...and really appreciate all your amazing comments!

Happy New Year!!

SSBC#2 - Winter Birthday Card

Hello and welcome!

I'm delighted to share a card I have made for the second Serendipity Stamps Blog Challenge (SSBC#2)! Come and join us for our second bi monthly challenge and you could win $20 (approx. £12) off your next order!

Our challenge is to create a Winter Birthday Card using at least one Serendipity Stamps product.  We have several winter birthdays to consider in our family and things are getting pretty busy around here what with all the Christmas preparations - so this challenge has turned out to be very well-timed!

I used Serendipity Stamps Snowman with Watering Can stamp to create this quick and easy card...

I stamped the image using Brilliance Pearlescent ink for a real subtle sheen and added some delicate colour using Copic markers. I left a fair bit of him uncoloured as he's made of snow, but also because there is so much amazing detail to these stamps that they are beautiful in their own right. I stamped 'Happy Birthday' along the bottom using the sentiment from the 'Everyday Words - Large Horizontal' set.
He's such a happy little fella - I do hope that he will bring joy to the recipient too.
Do stop by the rest of the Serendipity Stamps Design Team to enjoy all their Winter inspired  Birthday cards won't regret it :). Here are the links to their blogs:

And the sale of the week at Serendipity Stamps is 40% off  the highest priced item in your basket. The deal runs from December 19th until December 26th 2012.

DYSU#102 - Christmas

Time for another fab Christmassy challenge from DYSU!

and here is my card...

I got to work with this lovely image from 'Stamp and Create' called 'Wags 'n Whiskers - Bear Hug'.
Although the image could be used for so many different occasions, I thought I would make her into a Christmas Angel by giving her a festive green dress trimmed with Christmas red.  I used some fun co-ordinating Christmassy patterned papers and trimmed with cream cotton lace and red and white bakers twine.
I used a tiny green tag (from lovely Pauline) which says 'Very Merry' and added a sweet little metal snowflake charm.

Don't forget to take a look at the other wonderful Christmas creations from the DYSU DT (linked in my sidebar ->) and find full details of the Challenge on the DYSU blog

Here are our sponsors for this week:

* Winner’s Choice of 5 Digis

* $20 Gift Certificate

All the very best to you this holiday season,

Nordic Noel...TRR#43

Hello and welcome to an all new Challenge from The Ribbon Reel Blog...
Before we get started - please welcome our fantastic new Design Team members
Jeanne Jachna, Michelle Bala, Tammy Hobbs and Sarah Ingle who are sharing their AMAZING DT creations with us today!! Please stop by and leave them some love if you get the chance - just click on their names to be taken directly to their blogs :)

Onto the current challenge - I chose the following photo for your inspiration...The theme for the next two weeks is "Nordic Noel"...and we would like you to use Red, White and Kraft as the main colours and include some Buttons, Ribbon and Twine on your creations.

and here is my take...I created a card with a matching gift box...using lots of goodies available from The Ribbon Reel Shop

I used patterned papers from Pink Paislee's City Sidewalks collection to cover the box using ModPodge, adding SU glitter to the lid. I used some red mesh trim along the centre of the box, adding a snowflake die cut from some white glittered felt, candy cane, a sweet Holly Sprig and some lovely Chamepagne White striped twill.
The sweet little applique style Christmas stocking is from Waltzingmouse's Sewing Box Christmas and is paper pieced using more Pink Paislee Paper. I added some cute pom-pom trim at the top of the boot and tied on some little silver jingle bells

I used some beautiful white guipure lace and some red and white stripe twill from The Ribbon Reel to cover the outside of the lid and finished the top using natural button twine and a small red and white polka dot buton.

I used lots of the same elements for the coordinating card, leaving off the candy cane due to its weight.

TRR#43 Card

Today I'm also playing along with the challenge from 'Unscripted Sketches #188' which I used for layout of my card.

You can find all the details of the Nordic Noel challenge on The Ribbon Reel Challenge Blog. I would love to see you there, so come join us!!

Sweetest Christmas Wishes...

Hello sweet blog buddies!

I had a very small time in my craft room just to play, so I whipped up a card for this week's Waltzingmouse Sketch challenge.  This weeks 'Mojo Starter' is a sketch by WMS Mischief Maker Iwona Palamountain.  I was so inspired by the lovely Jeanne's card and still on high from being a Top Mouse last week, I had to give it a go!! :))

I had SO MUCH fun with this sketch and kind of went with the 'flow'. Here is my effort...
I began by stamping a custom background using a star image from a 'secret' set in blue and two sizes of sweeties in aqua and red to form a lovely Christmas pattern.  I used my newly received Candy Jar Christmas and Candy Jar Fillers stamp sets to create the sweetie jar full of peppermint cream candy (recipe courtesy of Mrs Claus!! LOL!). The sweetie jar label has some added stardust stickles for lots of Christmas sparkle!
I had some of my stamped background paper left over, so I die cut a label using Spellbinders Labels 4 and then added a small red dotty border from 'Very Vintage Labels 4' and stamped one of the cute sentiment from Candy Jar Christmas stamp set in the centre.

The embellishment at the top left I made myself by stamping two star images from 'the Secret Set' in red and then scoring, folding to create a 3D embellie :) I simply die cut a little shape from Spellbinders Persian Accents set and finished with a snow white button and aqua/peppermint bakers twine.

I used some gorgeous sheer white ruffle edge ribbon and more aqua bakers twine from The Ribbon Reel to create a border along the bottom of the card. The red mesh behind the jar I picked up at a little outing to The Stamp Attic along with the tag die which I have embossed using Sizzix Snowflakes folder.

Hope you enjoyed your visit to my blog today and will find the time to play along with this great sketch challenge too!

I'm also entering into the following challenges:

Enjoy the rest of your crafting time this week :)

DYSU#101 Silver and Gold

Its Thursday and time for the new challenge from DYSU! We would like to see you use Silver and Gold on your creations!

I was lucky enough to be able to use the Rhoda Design Studios Retro Camera Images found here to work with.
Here is my take on this weeks challenge...

I stamped a simple background in Versamark ink and then heat embossed using stampendous silver and gold embossing powders.

The custom camera patterned paper was created by pasting one of the Retro Camera images from the Vintage Camera Digi set by 'Rhoda Design Studio' repeatedly and then printing onto aqua cardstock.

I printed one of the other Retro Cameras onto Sahara sand cardstock, fussy cut, paper pieced with patterned paper and then popped the lens up using foam adhesive. I went in added just a touch of shading with my Copic marker.
The speech a bubble and sentiment are computer generated.

Don't forget to stop by the DYSU blog >here<  to see what the rest of the fantastic DT creations and for full details of our sponsors for this week and the brilliant prizes up for grabs - it could be you!! :)

So, onto this challenge. We were asked to create a Honeycomb/Accordian effect on our cards. It's a relatively simple and fun technique to try - there is a tutorial HERE if you are not familiar with it.

  Serendipity 5 Dec

I used some pretty Little Yellow Bicycle 'Twig' patterned paper for the background and 'Fuchsia Flowerdot' for the butterfly which I cut using Serendipity Stamps Butterfly die. The sentiment is so versatile - love it! and is from the 'Everyday Words Large Cling Set'. I simply stamped in Paris Dusk ink onto a hand cut banner.  I finished with ivory ribbon bow and a Websters Pages sparkler!

Do stop by the rest of the Serendipity design team members - just click on their names to jump to their blog.

CR84FN68 WK#2

Hey everyone - hope you're all enjoying your weekend so far! I'm back with my second card for week two of CR84FN#68! We are playing with the beautiful colour combo of Burgundy, Gray and Cream...
Although my thoughts are mostly on making Christmas cards, my sisters birthday is on Jan 8th so I'm trying to make sure I have something lovely made especially for her well in advance!

CR84FN#68 wk#2

I used the Vintage Music stamp from The Alley Way Stamps to create the sheet music background and then stamped the beautiful PTI leaf flourish in burgundy ink over the top.

The label is created using Waltzingmouse's 'French Country' label and the sentiment is stamped in London Fog grey ink with words from the 'Compact Family' Set.

I used Spellbinders Bitty Blossoms dies to create fabric flowers using Burgundy felt - I simply added a lovely creamy pearl to the centre to finish each one.  I added some sheer wired chiffon ribbon alond the bottom of the card onto which I layered a grey cardstock border cut using Spellbinders Persian Accents die, some burgundy velvet ric rac, pearl flourish and a pearl stick pin.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend! We are going to finish decorating our sitting room for Christmas :)

TRR#42 - Shabby Pastel Christmas

Hello and welcome to another challenge at The Ribbon ReelLenet has chosen the most beautiful inspiration photo for us all to play with for the next two weeks and asks us to 'Make a Christmas card /project using cream, baby blue, pink and some bling!'

and here's my take using lots of beautiful Waltzingmouse Stamps!

I created my very own customised background by stamping pink and blue snowflakes randomly over the white cardbase and then added two blue banner strips which had been embossed using Sizzix snowflakes embossing folder.

The sentiment is from 'Say it Loud - Winter Holidays'

I used the gorgeous snowflake image from 'Sewing Box Christmas' as the focal point for this card.  I stamped the smaller herringbone (dogtooth) patttern from 'Heirloom patterns' in pink and blue ink in order to paper piece the snowflake - fussy cutting for added dimension.I used the beautiful circle stamp from 'Faux Fun Circles' to stamp a blue background to the snowflake. I trimmed the snowflake bauble with light pink small pom-pom trim from The Ribbon Reel and finished with some pretty pink and white striped grosgain, also from The Ribbon Reel. I also used some gorgeous 'pink sheer ruffle edge ribbon', some '6mm blue grosgrain ribbon' and the gorgeous 'ivory button twine' from The Ribbon Reel behind the snowflake image.
I also stamped another pink strip of herringbone for the horizontal border across the top third of the card. I used the Marianne Designs Snowflake die to cut a lovely white felt shape as part of the background.

and here's another view...

Don't forget to visit the fabby TRR DT girls for their 'shabby pastel creations' today!

CR84FN#68...All Hearts Come Home

Yay, it's time for more beautiful colour inspiration from CR84FN! We have an absolutely gorgeous inspiration picture for you to play with for the next two weeks using the colours Burgundy, Gray and Cream. Yum!!

and here is my card using those colours...

I used the beautiful heart stamp from Waltzingmouse Stamps 'Seasons of Love - Tagsset as my focal point, stamped in London Fog gray ink. I then stamped two small ovals from 'Cameo Creations' and fussy cut around them to frame my sentiment. I added a sweet Christmas Rose and some lovely ivory button twine tied in a triple bow.
The background papers are MME and are trimmed with some beautiful velvet ric rac trim, gray seam binding and some gorgeous Prima lace. The wonderful gray and cream Vintage Finds label was from my friend Pauline  - I simply distressed the edges with some Antique Linen ink. I used my pearl pen to go in and add a little extra detail here and there.

I really hope that you can play along with us at CR84FN this time. This will be our last challenge before the Christmas break, so it would be great to have you join us ;)

Do stop by the rest of the super-talented CR84FN DT (you will find their names and links to their blogs in my sidebar ->) or visit the CR84FN Color Challenge Blog for all the details.

DYSU#99 - Make it Count, Use a Number

Here I am, back again with more fun from DYSU
This week, we are being challenged to use numbers somewhere on our projects!

I have used 'Crafty Sentiments - Mia' on my card today, I coloured her using Copic Markers and then paper pieced her cute jacket and wellington boots with some super cute cherry papers, I made her a little skirt from some pretty white lace which I simply gathered and adhered underneath the hem of the jacket with some strong double sided tape.

I cut and scored some white card and punched a pretty border along the bottom edge. For the background I chose papers by MME and Papermania - I took some of the number paper and cut into a pennant shape banner, added a floral doily die cut and a large red paper flower behind her.  I stamped a little sentiment, tied some sheer white polka dot ribbon around the bottom half of the card, added a red paper flower and a polka dot button and topped off with a few lovely sparkly red gems.

Here are our fabby sponsors:

* Winner's Choice of 4 Images

The Paper Shelter -
*$20 gift certificate

*Winner's Choice of 5 Digis

Join in with the fun - we really want to see those numbers...Visit the DYSU Blog for full details!
