Autumn Sunflowers For You

Image
Beautiful sunflowers to brighten your day.... Today I am playing along with the new Freshly Made Sketches  (FMS554) card layout and gorgeous Color Throwdown  ( CTD711 )  inspiration palette chosen by  of turquoise, yellow, brown and green. Here they are.... and here's my take...  I know the photo is just there for inspiration, but I decided to take it literally and use sunflowers :) I die cut three sunflowers from The Greetery's 'BotaniCuts Sunflower' set and arranged the blooms and their leaves in a turquoise vase which is a stamped image from Waltzingmouse stamps Candy Jar set. I shaped the petals slightly and used adhesive foam dots to give the flowers some dimension. I used a pretty embossing folder on the die cut rectangular ticket shape to add a little interest and paper pieced keeping the sketch in mind. I learned a lot making this card and there are things I would do differently next time, but I enjoyed having some creative time to just play with this... Have

Love You Husband Anniversary Card FMS551

Image
Hi everyone, Today I'm sharing the first card I have made in a very, very long time...and I have to admit I'm more than a little out of practice.  I wanted to make my husband a special Anniversary card but most of my stamping supplies are packed up in the attic right now, so I went with what I had to hand. I combined sentiments from a Waltzingmouse Stamps and Technique Tuesday with Papermania Scrap papers; red velvet ribbon and natural twine. For card sketch inspiration, I'm joining along with the  Freshly Made Sketches #551 . Thanks so much for stopping by! Helen x

Handmade shopping loveliness!!

Image
Hi everyone, It's been a little while since my last post...I'm just popping in with a few of my favourite things right now. I have done a little bit of shopping via some great crafts people, all of whom I found on Facebook originally-all of whom have small to medium crafts businesses. I would never have even thought about shopping for these types of things on Facebook before I started my own Doll making business,   'Little Ida Crafts' and started looking for new ways of interacting with my marketplace and it has really opened up a whole new world of shopping possibilities hehehehe! First shopping item are these gorgeous cards from Artwork by Angie and are available to buy via her website. Second item is this gorgeous wee Fairy House from Jo over at Purkilicious ...I just couldn't resist this! How CUTE? It is going to look so cute on the shelf by my sewing machine...would love to know what's going on in Fairy land right now! Third up is this cute

Good morning everyone! It's a beautiful sunny day here in Oxfordshire (so far!) Myself, husband and our two boys had a wonderful week away at a remote cottage on the Herefordshire/Welsh border for the half-term holiday but I'm looking forward to getting my craft on and working on my next set of doll orders. But before I do, I'm launching a giveaway on my Facebook page that you may be interested in...it's a sweet new design which I'm proud of -  I have given her some pink highlights and she also has a little reversible peasant style tunic dress for two completely different looks :) I'm kind of thinking it may just have been easier to make two separate dresses, but I liked the idea so ran with it!! I'm giving the winner the choice of how they would like the face embroidered (which is why she looks unfinished) The choices are smiling eyes, sleepy eyes or embroidered coloured eyes! Thanks for looking - I would love to know what you think of her!! Pop o
