TT109 'Doodles' with Tuesday Throwdown

Untitled

Welcome to another Tuesday Throwdown Challenge! This week we are inviting you to 'Doodle' on your projects to be in with a chance of winning a very generous gift package from this week's Sponsor, Sherrod Studios

Kim is one of my Co-TTDT members,  but she also makes the most beautiful bags, phone cases, diaper bags, wristlets and much more...all via the online store.  You can visit her website here.

I was inspired by lots of the beautiful bags on Kim's website, particularly the fresh modern cotton prints and have tried to incorporate this into today's card.

Untitled

I used a scallop edged oval lace frame available as a digital image from 'My Grafico' and a 'Thinking of You' digi stamp sentiment by 'Meljen's Designs' and printed off onto Kraft Cardstock and fussy cut around the lacey scalloped frame. I decided to draw a little tree as the Doodle element on my card.  I started by drawing a teardrop shaped outline and then used a black Faber Castell drawing pen to go in and create the doodled pattern on the tree iteself. I added a little colour to the tree and the lace frame using Copic markers.

Don't forget to visit the Tuesday Throwdown Challenge blog for FULL details of this weeks challenge and all the fabulous 'doodling' projects the rest of the TTDT have created.

I used the lovely ' July SFYTT' sketch by Jen Del Muro for my card layout...

Have a wonderful week...

Hugs,
Helen

Just For You...

WMSC107 CR84FN59

Hi everyone - I managed to find a little crafty time for myself and wanted to quickly share what I made with you.  I have SO much to do before we go away on Monday, so I apologies for keeping this brief!

Butterfly detail WMSC107

I used canvas resist butterflies which I painted with an Acrylic Paint wash - I mixed the colour to coordinate with the cardstock - it looks a little orange in the photo but it's actually more coral IRL.

I am playing along with this week's Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge WMSC107 and I used the colours from the beautiful CR84FN59 Inspiration board.

As always, thanks for looking and leaving a sweet comment!

Tropical Paradise - TT108 Meljen's Designs

Untitled

Hi, I hope you had a terrific weekend and are having a great week so far! It's Tuesday and that means another fab Tuesday Throwdown Challenge.

Finally, we have some beautiful summer weather here in the UK and I was inspired to make a card with a 'Tropical Paradise' flavour for our latest challenge over on the TT Blog. We were all given images by 'Meljen's Designs' to play with this week and I thought it would be really fun to make a card using their 'Summer Time Sandals' image. Meljens have put together a very generous prize package for One lucky winner, so I hope you can play along with us. Also, please do stop by the Tuesday Throwdown Blog to take a peek at the Fabulous creations the rest of the Super Talented Design Team has in store for you! 8-)

Untitled

I decided to do some paper piecing and used some Cosmo Cricket DP for the sandals and then printed again onto yellow cardstock for the thong part, colouring the flower red with a Copic marker and adding a little red sparkly gem to finish.
I used various Spellbinders dies (and lots of foam dots) to create some lovely layers and mounted them onto a Kraft cardstock tag which I embossed with the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots Embossing folder. The lovely orange striped paper in the background is from Pink Paislee's Nantucket collection and the ribbon, twine and flowers are from The Ribbon Reel.

...and I used the fabulous "retro sketches" layout (RS#21) by current GD, Tracey McNeely for todays card:-

Have a wonderful rest of the week!

Hugs.

TRR33 Button It!

It's time for another challenge at The Ribbon Reel. This week, lovely Pauline challenges us to use BUTTONS on your creation with RIBBON and TWINE.

I have used a digital stamp image from 'MyGrafico' to create a little glass jar in which to hold all my gorgeous Ribbon Reel Buttons!

TRR#33

I printed the jar image to a size of my liking and then ran it through my die cutting machine using Spellbinders Labels One. I then cut out the inside part of the jar and adhered some acetate onto the back of it to look like glass. I arranged all the buttons from The Ribbon Reel randomly onto a separate piece of cardstock using glue dots and then used foam adhesive to attach the jar on top of the buttons.  The fabric top/lid is paper pieced and tied with Pink Button Twine and a small Ivory Pearl Heart and the background is created using 'Tea For Two' papers by Cosmo Cricket and finished with some stunning May Arts Silk Ribbon in Champagne - all available to buy here from The Ribbon Reel.

TRR33 Jar

Here's a close-up of that lovely sentiment and another view of all those beautiful buttons!

TRR33 Sentiment

Have a great Monday and don't forget that you can find all the details of the buttons challenge on The Ribbon Reel Blog and also see what my wonderfully talented teamies have come up with this week too!

How's Things? PDCC141 and MFTWSC81

Hey everyone - just popping in between jobs to post this little card for my very first entry into the latest My Favorite Things Wednesday sketch challenge - MFTWSC81. I took my colour inspiration from the most beautiful Play Date Cafe Challenge PDCC141.

I recently purchased a 'Pure Innocence' digital stamp from Heather Ellis, a writer and illustrator from the UK who sells her stamps online and are also available as clear stamps from My Favorite Things as well. The image is coloured using Copics and her dress is paper-pieced using some Kaiserkraft DP.

How's things?

And here is the sketch and colour story I mentioned earlier:-

Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa

July 2012 Waltzingmouse Blog Party

I have been busting to join in all the fun over on the Waltzingmouse stamps monthly Blog Party so decided earlier today to bite the bullet and go for it!!   This months theme for the blog party is 'The Great Outdoors'.

Untitled
My mind wandered to thoughts of summer picnics and walks with my boys and our puppy. We have seen so many beautiful butterflies at the Country Park where we walk this year that I decided to ink up the gorgeous butterfly image from 'Nordic Spring'. I used one of Claire's wonderful *FREE TEMPLATES* available from the 'Freebies' section of the Waltzingmouse Stamps store. This one is called 'sweetie pouch'.

Untitled

I used some of the sweet little flowers from WMS 'French Country' to stamp all over the template in versamark ink and then heat embossed them using white embossing powder. Then I went in with Copic markers and gave them some colour. I also lined the inside of the pouch with some gingham patterned paper from MME before assembling the template.
The template itself is incredibly easy to assemble and holds a surprising amount. I've filled mine with sweets as an end of year teacher gift, but you could easily pop in a few little travel size toiletries or even a slice of yummy cake (lovely to take away from a summer picnic/event) - how great would these be set out as favours on each table at a summer wedding.

Untitled

I used mini Pom-Pom trim to finish the top edge and pearl lace trim along the very bottom.

Untitled

The Nordic Spring butterfly is stamped onto Kraft cardstock using versamark ink and heat embossed using white embossing powder. I then added colour to the wings with Copic markers and then used some diamond dust sticklers for extra sparkle! All finished off with a beautiful mocha rose from The Ribbon Reel.

Can't wait to see what everyone has made! Come join in the fun - you have until 17th July, 6:30pm UK time (see the Waltzingmouse Blog for full details and a list of international timings.

Enjoy the party everyone!

Supplies:

Waltzingmouse stamps: Nordic Spring, French Country, Free Sweetie Pouch Template
Mini Pom Pom trim, cream faux silk ribbon, lace pearl trim, Mocha Rose - The Ribbon Reel
Ink: Versamark, Copic Markers
Gingham Paper - My Minds Eye
White embossing powder - Stampin' Up!

TT107 Tuesday Throwdown Challenge - It's Clear....

Hey everyone. Welcome to another Tuesday Throwdown Challenge.  This one's a goodie!! The challenge is to use a 'Clear Element' of some sort on your creation.  I decided on acetate as my clear element and I used an image called 'Surfer Lenny' by our sponsor for this week, 'Inked Treasures'. Ashley gave us some fun images to use!

' I decided to create a Shaker Card using acetate from some stamp packaging which holds my image and some blue bugle beads and gems.

TT107 Clear Element

I used the largest Spellbinders Labels One Die and Spellbinders Classic Circles to cut a frame from Teal cardstock. The acetate is also cut using Labels One die and adhered to the back of the cardstock. I then used foam tape cut into thin strips and shaped into a circle to build up a barrier to contain all those little beads. Surfer Lenny is coloured using Copic Markers and then fussy cut and adhered onto some Making Memories 'Just Chillin' Boy paper. After adding my beads, I carefully placed the Lion and his backing paper into place.

TT107 image

I stamped a little flag onto more of the same paper and attached to a plain old cocktail stick wrapped with some blue bakers twine.  The card is finished with some blue striped natural twill ribbon, simply knotted along the top.

Before I go, I found a great tutorial on how use acetate to make shaker cards - click here if you would like to see it.  I have to say that it's a little addictive making these and my sons were desperate to get their hands on this card and have a go at shaking it!! It's also a great way of using up any unwanted plastic packaging too LOL :)

Don't forget to check out the Tuesday Throwdown blog for more amazing design work from my teamies and for full details of this challenge.

I look forward to seeing all your wonderful creations!

Hot Colours - TT106

TT106 BUTTERFLY

Hi, I hope you're having a great week so far. Todays challenge at "Tuesday Throwdown" is Hot Colours. Our sponsor is *The Crop Stop.* and they have lots of stamps and crafty goodies available in their online store, Be sure to stop by and check them out!  They have also put together a very generous prize package for One lucky winner, so that's a great reason to join us in our 'Hot Colours' challenge this week.
Unfortunately, there isn't much of a heatwave here in the UK, so some hot, tropical colours were definitely in order for my card.

tt106

I chose SNSS's 'Everyday Miracles' Digital Stamp Set for my card today. I sponged some Memento Rose Bud ink around the sentiment and coloured one of the butterflies from the set with pink Copic Markers.  I thought the vibrant pinks/yellow/greens in Pink Paislee's Spring Jubilee looked wonderful for this challenge, so I cut 4 strips and created the background.

TT106 LABEL

I used this week's sketch SSS166  over at the Sweet Stop Sketch Challenge Blog as inspiration for my card layout. I used a butterfly instead of the little text box and took a little liberty by moving the butterfly's position upwards.

We would love you to come along and join us for this week's challenge.  Also note that Tuesday Throwdown is having a DT call which will end on July 29, and we'd love to see you apply.  All the details on that can be found on the Tuesday Throwdown Challenge blog, and you can see all the inspiration from the rest of the team for this week's challenge.

Papers: Pink Paislee - Spring Jubilee 6x6 patterned papers

The Ribbon Reel #32 Sweet Sparkle

Good Morning!

It's Monday, and that means it's another new challenge over at The Ribbon Reel blog.

This week, the inspiration has been chosen by the lovely Fran, and she would like us to use the colours in the picture, and to use 'sparkle' and add a 'Heart', lace and ribbon.

I used a large houndstooth design from the Heirloom patterns stamp set by Waltzingmouse to stamp the label and bottom panel using Aqua ink.

I added a beautiful Serendipity heart die to cut that intricate pink heart and then added a sprinkle of glitter for the sparkle element of the challenge. I used a pretty butterfly die cut shape and edged its wings with more sparkle, adding a beautiful pink tea rose - available from The Ribbon Reel shop!

I used some guipure lace drops at the very top of the middle textured panel and threaded light blue ruffled edge ribbon and pink loopy trim (from The Ribbon Reel) through the top of the tag.
I also used some of the amazing candy cane pink/white striped grosgrain ribbon - all tied up in a pretty bow to finish off the aqua stamped panel.

Don't forget to stop by the rest of the design team and also welcome our Guest Designer - Michelle Bala, for some more beautiful inspiration.

I also used a Waltzingmouse sketch this week for the layout of my card - here it is:

Thanks for stopping by!

TT105 Robyn's Rose

tt105 rose detail

Welcome to another Tuesday and another fresh challenge at Tuesday Throwdown. This week we have an 'Anything Goes' theme, but as tomorrow heralds the 4th July Celebrations is the USA I felt it would be nice to use the colours Red, White and Blue.

TT105

I used a lovely 'Rose' image from our sponsor this week 'Robyn's Fetish - Digital Stamps and more'

I decided to paper piece the bloom of the 'Rose image' by printing several times on some pretty muted blue DP, fussy cutting and then arranging the petals in a kind of decoupaged style using foam dimensionals.  I also used my glue pen to go in and add a little sparkle on the edge of the petals.  The stem and leaves are simply coloured using Copics. For the layout of this card I used this week's Mojo Monday Sketch 248 and cut panels of Christy Tomlinson's She Art Paper by Pink Paislee and added some Prima Lace along the second panel and some gorgeous red striped twill ribbon.  The little tiny label says 'love you' and is from my super lovely friend Pauline, who sent me some heavenly crafty goodies for my birthday last week.

tt105 side

I do hope you'll have time to play along with our challenge this week.  Don't forget you will find a whole ton of inspiration from the other TTDT ladies by visting the Tuesday Throwdown Blog.

Here's a look at that pretty Mojo Monday sketch I followed too:

I'm also entering Totally Papercrafts Challenge this week - Use a Digi Image.

As always, thanks for visiting!! Enjoy your crafting this week, whatever you are doing.

Hugs,

Helen
